Judy Garland was one of the greatest singers of the American Songbook in the 20th Century.  A  highlight of her magnificent career was her 1961 Concert at Carnegie Hall.  The greatness of the singer was matched by the incredible and timeless arrangements and orchestrations by Mort Lindsey and Nelson Riddle.

Our concert relives the highlights of Judy's Carnegie Hall concert,  ornamented with select musical gems from Judy's CBS-TV Show.  Our concert performs the original arrangements and orchestrations that were performed at Carnegie Hall and on CBS-TV and inspired by Judy's iconic signature style.

Added to the mix is Michael Berkowitz, a symphony, Broadway and concert conductor, and who has worked closely with Liza Minnelli for many years.  He has fun, insightful stories that will add amusing and entertaining moments between songs.

This is not a concert of imitation.

Who else better to bring to life these great songs and arrangements, but Broadway star, Karen Mason, a sought after international concert and cabaret singer.  A formidable talent in her own right "... a voice that lifts the room to some new astral Plane, " as reported by the Village Voice.

A great concert - fun, exciting, memorable.  They don't make them like this anymore ....

  • New York Times

“Ms. Mason ... Fierce emotion! Intense and intimate! She creates a mood of wild expectation.”

  • Village Voice

“Mason has a voice that lifts  the room to some new astral plane!”

  •  Howard Reich - Chicago Tribune

“With the ferocity of Ms. Mason’s performances and the eyes-wide-open truth of her interpretations, she ranks right up there with the masters.”

  • Chuck Gottschalk - Naples Philharmonic Orchestra

“The Garland Magic,” the recreation of Judy Garland’s Carnegie Hall program is sensational. The arrangements are outstanding with veteran conductor  Michael Berkowitz leading the orchestra.  Your audience will have a hard time resisting the temptation to sing along during these classics.  Highly recommended."

  • Alan Silow, Executive Director Santa Rosa Symphony

“The Garland Magic” was an unqualified Pops hit with our audience.  You could genuinely say it was “Over the Rainbow.”   Principal Pops Conductor Mike Berkowitz’s special programming, special arrangements and special relationship today with Liza Minnelli had our audience leaving with a smile on their face and a lilt in their walk.”

  • TheatreMania

“She can sing the roof off of St. Patrick's Cathedral! A towering talent!  A most accessible diva!”
